This page offers a description of the methods used to manage the website, with reference to the personal data of its users.

It concerns an informative notice issued in compliance with article 13 of legislative decree no. 196/2003 - Code regulating the protection of personal data – to those who interact with web services accessible via computer at:

These requirements include methods, times and the nature of the information which the holders of the process must supply to users when they log on to web pages, regardless of the reasons for logging on.

The Recommendation and a brief description of its aims can be found on other pages on this website.

THE “HOLDER” OF THE PROCESS

Following use of this website, data relating to identified or identifiable persons may be processed.

The “holder” of the process is the Centre for Studies on Federalism, based in Moncalieri, Italy.

DATA PROCESSING VENUE

The processes related to the web services of this website take place at the Centre for Studies on Federalism and are carried out exclusively by the technical personnel of the data processing department, or by other persons who might be assigned occasional maintenance tasks.

No data obtained via the web service will be communicated or divulged.

The personal data supplied by users who forward requests for the dispatch of informative materials (newsletters, CD-ROMS, annual reports, answers to questions, deeds and provisions, etc.) is used only to supply the service or pursue the aims requested and will only be given to third parties if this is absolutely necessary in order to achieve such aim.

TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED

Surfing data

The IT systems and software procedures for the operation of this website acquire certain items of personal data during their normal working procedures, due to the fact that the transmission of such data is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.

This information is not collected to be associated with identified parties but may, due to its specific nature, be processed and associated with data held by third parties to enable the identification of users.

This category of data includes the IP addresses or dominions of computers utilised by users of the website, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the dimension of the file obtained in response, the numeric code indicating the status of the server response (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the operating system and the user’s IT environment.

This data is used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the website and to check that it works correctly, and is cancelled immediately after processing. The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of hypothetical IT crimes damaging the website.

Data supplied voluntarily by the user

The optional, explicit and voluntary dispatch of e-mail to the addresses indicated on this website implicates the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, needed to reply, as well as any other personal data included in the message.

COOKIES

No personal data on users is purposely acquired by the website.

No cookies are used for the transmission of personal information, nor is any type of so-called persistent cookie, or user tracking system, used.

The use of so-called session cookies (which are not memorised persistently on the user’s computer and vanish when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifications (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow the safe and efficient exploration of the website.

The so-called session cookies used on this website avoid the need to use other IT techniques which are potentially hazardous to the confidentiality of web surfing by users, and do not allow the acquisition of personal information which identifies the user.

OPTIONAL SUPPLY OF DATA

Apart from that specified for the web surfing data, the user is free to supply the personal data indicated on the request forms or indicated in contacts to solicit the dispatch of informative material or other correspondence.

Failure to supply such information may make it impossible to obtain the service required.

In these cases, compliance with such requests is mandatory, otherwise administrative sanctions are applied.

PROCESSING METHOD

Personal data is processed, using automated tools, for the time strictly required to achieve the aims for which it was collected.

Specific security measures are observed to prevent loss, illicit or improper use and unauthorised access to the data.

THE DATA SUBJECT’S RIGHTS

The subjects to whom the personal data refers are entitled to obtain confirmation of the existence (or otherwise) of data concerning them, at any time, and to receive information on its content and origin. They may also verify that it is precise or ask for its completion, update or rectification (art. 7 of legislative decree no. 196/2003).
